Carnaval in Salamanca and Guarda

Next weekend (from Sunday till Wednesday) I will be with some friends in Salamanca. I’ve been there some years ago and I can assure you that this city has some interesting places to see.

Salamanca was European Capital of Culture in 2002. Some people say that together with Santiago and Granada, is known for being one of the best cities for night life in Spain. A city full of life and lots of Eastern Erasmus students with strange names ended in ova and insky !!!

On the way to Salamanca, we will stop in the Portuguese city Guarda, just for one night. This is a beautiful old settlement, that the Portuguese King Dom Sancho I transformed officially into a city on 27th November 1199. It’s the tallest Portuguese city (1056 meters high) and gained importance for its strategic position (near the Spanish border – at that time our enemies!). For those who never visited this city, I recommend it.

In the next days I will tell you all the details of my adventures in Guarda and Salamanca and I will post some interesting photos!

Wait for news!!
